Master the Jam Circle! (Mar 25)

Singer on stage with a bass player behind her.

The Jam Circle is a swing dancing tradition where the dancers form a circle and whoop and encourage their fellow swing dancers dancing in the middle.

It dates from the 20's and 30's when dancers in the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, New York would dance in the corner and other dancers would clear the space for them and cheer them on. This was called the Cat's Corner.

Come and learn a 2-phrase sequence you can use in a jam circle, and learn how to get in and get out. And for those who did the Airbender Workshops, you'll be able to include these in your sequences.

See you there!
